What is Eyelid Surgery (Blepharoplasty)?

Eyelid surgery, also known as blepharoplasty, is performed to create a younger and more refreshed appearance by improving the structure and form of the upper and lower eyelids.

Upper eyelid surgery can be performed alone or in combination with lower eyelid surgery. When performed alone, it is typically a 20–30 minute procedure carried out under local anesthesia.

Depending on the patient’s needs, this procedure can also be combined with other aesthetic treatments such as temple lifting or brow lifting.

In lower eyelid surgery, conditions such as under-eye bags, tear trough deformities, and excess skin in the lower eyelids are corrected. These procedures are generally performed under local anesthesia, and patients are usually discharged on the same day.
